Each Climate Café had a bespoke session to discuss current challenges and opportunities to reduce emissions, with officials from across local government departments joining the conversation in each local area.
Together local government officials and local people were able to discuss solutions, ideas and support needed to deliver emission reductions across the area.
Initial local conversations have led to wider conversations and this dialogue continues on priorities and key themes that have emerged – on catchment management, resource use, education, biodiversity and transport.
“The establishment of a network of Climate Cafes across Perth & Kinross is most welcome. It heartening to know there are groups determined to take action locally, to play their part in our response to the Climate Emergency. In addition the Climate Cafes provide a focus for engagement between the Council, the Cafes and the local communities. We look forward to working with you to play our part in delivering a net zero Perth & Kinross.“
Peter Marshall, Planning & Housing Strategy Manager – Planning & Development, Perth & Kinross Council
