Climate Café® Crieff, based at Remake Scotland, in Crieff, began in January 2023. Remake Scotland is a community reuse charity. Remake aim to support, supply and inspire reuse for the benefit of people and planet. The Reuse Hub focuses on promoting sustainable shopping within the local community, making second-hand, first choice.
Climate Café® Crieff is the next of Remake’s exciting new projects, aiming to engage people throughout the local community in meaningful and proactive conversations about the climate crisis. Featuring a series of guest speakers, covering a variety of topics to raise awareness of environmental issues and possible solutions that could come from the community.
Remake Scotland are popular for the wide variety of second-hand textile and craft stock they have. Climate Café® Crieff is hoping to cover the environmental impact of the textile industry, to inform members of the local community about sustainable choices they can be making when purchasing clothes and textiles in the future.
Remake Scotland centres much of its work around reuse and second-hand shopping, making this widely available to the local community. Since becoming a registered charity in 2013, Remake has promoted reuse widely and has saved a great deal of items from entering landfill. Through a variety of projects, including repair cafés, the Remake Refillery and weekly textile workshops, Remake works with a variety of groups within the community of Crieff and the surrounding areas to promote sustainable living, reuse and repair.
