Climate Café® Lakes Region, New Hampshire

Climate Café® Lakes Region, New Hampshire

Lakes, mountains, forests and fall foliage attract people from around the world to the Lakes Region of New Hampshire, USA. Those who are fortunate to live in this area are serious about their responsibilities as stewards of this natural beauty. Climate Café® Lakes Region offers an opportunity to discover how individual concerns match actions playing out in the many towns that comprise this region of the state. Thirty-five people showed up for the group’s second community gathering to hear what their neighbors are pursuing in the climate space. Eleven volunteers spoke for four minutes each about topics ranging from plant-based eating to single use plastics reduction to health effects of rising environmental heat.

On April 16, 2026, the group will gather at the Prescott Farm Environmental Education Center from 5:00- 6:00 pm in Laconia to gather data about native flora using iNaturalist, a phone app, for the purpose of identifying nature zones that should be protected from development.

May 9, 2026 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm is Love Our Earth Day ~ Lakes Region at 18 Veterans Square, Laconia, a free and family-friendly event featuring 25 different environmental, faith, educational and civic organizations, who are active in the environmental space. Snacks and drinks will be freely offered by the host, the Congregational Church of Laconia.

Climate Café® Lakes Region is a welcoming, flexible, non-partisan group.
