Climate Café® Media (Scotland) creates the space for for journalists and broadcasters to hear more about and discuss the climate emergency in the run up to COP 26. All accredited journalists are welcome to join the monthly get together.
Every session runs for one hour and features fresh perspectives on climate impacts and solutions which have been raised in advance. As with all the existing Cafés, the first session kicked off with the Climate Reality Presentation and an insight into COP26 from the Convener of the international group at Stop Climate Chaos Scotland.
Community focus
So much of the incredible climate action that is going on in communities gets overlooked and unheard, yet there is so much to inspire and inform further climate action.,
This slot in every Cafe seeks to raise awareness for the media of the diversity and climate leadership from communities right across Scotland – not through intermediaries but directly from those taking climate action themselves – creating new connections and insight into diverse stories.
So far the Cafe has heard from EATS Rosyth (as featured in this film from the Climate Assembly Scotland) and Fraser Stewart has contributed emphasising the importance of including all those who need to be heard in the discussions around climate as set out in his blog.

Global focus
The Climate Café® space is a brilliant place to hear from voices across the world, especially important in the run up to COP 26. We have speakers joining us from around the world, particularly the global south where climate change is devastating lives and livelihoods. Our next Café will hear from an inspirational climate leader in Nigeria where the national media gather regularly to talk climate and catch up on the latest action and news.
