The Sustrans Edinburgh Climate Café® started up in March 2023, after a colleague was introduced to the concept at a conference.
Our workplace Café is completely colleague-led and meets monthly over a lunchtime in our Edinburgh hub.
Our Climate Café® aims to support colleagues and provide a friendly, informal space for us to connect with each other and share ideas in a constructive way.
Each month we choose a different topic to discuss, usually involving a presentation from a colleague or watching a short film to spark conversation. Topics so far have ranged from the just transition from oil and gas, to gardening and zero waste, the cycling industry, and even climate comedy!
Many of our colleagues have climate-related interests and expertise that extend beyond our organisational remit of active and sustainable travel. Climate Café® allows us to bring this knowledge together and inspire each other – over lunch and a cuppa.
