His interest in the climate and the science behind global warming was triggered by watching Al Gore’s movie ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ aboard one of the many long haul flights he took regularly for his job. It occurred to him that while he was working to optimise and improve vehicle transportation safety and efficiency, which was a good thing, the amount of air travel he was doing was actually damaging the environment and contributing hugely to the aviation industry’s CO2 emissions.
