Inspiring examples of Climate Café® activities
Community Climate Bunting
Dunkeld & Birnam Climate Café initiated a project that led to 100 m of Community Climate Bunting – each flag contributed by a member of the community, showing what they loved and why they were calling for urgent action on climate change.
Pathway to COP 26 with Climate Reality
In the run up to COP 26, Climate Café is excited to work with Climate Reality Leaders from across the UK. If your community would like to set up a Climate Café, we will be able to provide you with a starter pack and put you in touch with a Climate Reality Leader who will be happy to share a presentation on the latest science, impacts and solutions to the climate emergency we face.
Blairgowrie & Rattray COP 26 Tree
Posters went up in town about our Big Tree Textile project – which we hope to display at COP26. It’s an example of craftivism – valuing and highlighting what trees do for us, while also advertising our Climate Cafe!
24 Hours of Reality
In 2016, over a year after Climate Café Dunkeld & Birnam was established, Jess joined the 24 Hours of Reality broadcast from Climate Reality and spoke about Climate Café.
Tayside Woodland Partnerships
When an experienced forester joined the Blairgowrie & Dunkeld Climate Café group in 2019 the possibility of creating a community woodland became a realistic possibility.
